What is the Academic Discount?
The Academic Discount is the UCF Computer Store's ability to offer select software licenses and computers to Faculty, Staff and Students at a reduced Academic rate.

Eligibility to Purchase:
UCF Student/Staff/Faculty ID (or other higher education institution)
Acceptance letter to UCF (photo ID required)
Fee Invoice (photo ID required)
Class Schedule (photo ID required)

That includes UCF, Full Sail, Valencia, Seminole Community College, The Audio Recording Technology Institute, Brevard Community College, and any other higher education institution, and of course UCF Alumni! Having an academic discount at the UCF Computer Store is a great way to save a lot of money on the software and technology you’re going to need to help you be successful throughout your college career! With your academic discount on computers from manufacturers like Apple, Dell, and Sony and software makers like Adobe, Apple, and Microsoft you can walk away with money in your pocket and the reassurance that you’re getting the latest and greatest products on the market today!

Also, for UCF students, staff, and faculty keep in mind that you take advantage of even greater savings on software licensing from Adobe and Microsoft! Just make sure to ask a friendly UCF Computer Store sales associate for more details!

You’re probably also wondering how much you’re saving with your academic discount.

Well on academic software (Microsoft, Adobe, Apple) you’re saving anywhere from 10% to 75%.

On computers you’re saving anywhere from 8% to 20% depending on the model and current promotions. Plus, most of our computers usually come bundled with a printer or a 3 year warranty!

Accepted methods of payment for online personal purchases include:


Accepted methods of payment for in-store personal purchases include:

UCF SmartCard, cash, and check.

Departments may purchase online or in-store with a Department ID (account number) only.

A minimum 10% deposit is required for all computer orders. Full payment is due when the order is picked up.

For all other orders full payment is due when the order is placed.

For department orders, the full amount will be encumbered when the order is placed. If sufficient funds are not available at that time, the order will be held (no items will be ordered) until funds are made available or an alternate account number is provided.

We are committed to protecting your privacy at the UCF Computer Store. We will not collect any personal information from you that you do not volunteer, and we are the sole owner of all information collected on this site. We do not sell, share, or rent this information to others in any way.

When you place an order online, we need to know your name, e-mail, mailing address, payment information and verificaton that you qualify for academic and educational pricing. We will use this information to process your order. The information may also be used to notify you about special offers we have. You may request to be removed from our mailing list, and you will be promptly removed. Orders are processed through a secure server using high encryption (SSL). Information collected for the order process is encrypted and protected against unauthorized access.

Use of our web site is your consent to the use of your information by the UCF Computer Store. Any changes to this policy will be posted immediately on this web site.

30-day Return Period

The UCF Computer Store will exchange or refund the purchase within 30 days of the sale date, except as noted below.

14-day Return Period

The UCF Computer Store will exchange or refund the purchase within 14 days of the sale date on computers and notebook computers, monitors, printers (HP printers or scanners can only be returned if unopened), projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, and unopened iPods.
NOTE: There are no returns accepted on opened iPods unless defective as determined by our staff.

Restocking Fee

There is no restocking fee for defective (as determined by our staff) products if returned within 14 days of the sale date. Unless defective, a restocking fee of 15% will be charged on opened computers, monitors, printers, notebook computers, projectors, camcorders, and digital cameras.

Damaged Product Fee

A 15% damaged product fee will be charged for any product missing the original box, packaging material, and /or manuals (i.e., any product not in "like new" condition)*.

Return and Exchange Requirements

Your original receipt is required for all returns, exchanges and warranty repair services.

Personal Data

Please remove all personal data (e.g., computer data/files, music, or pictures) from any product you wish to return or exchange. The UCF Computer Store is not responsible for any personal data left on or in these items.

Non-returnable and non-refundable Items
Under no circumstances will we accept returns on:

Any item that is missing any accessories
Labor and/or installation services
Items that are damaged or abused
Memory, hard drives, and other electronic parts are not returnable if opened/installed;
defective items may be exchanged within 30 days of purchase.
Opened computer software and video games (the plastic wrapping or outer seal on the package must be intact for a return)
Opened ink or toner cartridges
Opened HP or IBM Products
Opened iPods
Opened or used ear bud headphones

Custom Configured Products

We are pleased to offer product custom configured to your specifications, and encourage you to review your order carefully. Since the product is built to your specifications the order cannot be changed, modified or cancelled once your order is in production.
