Microsoft Licensing for Departments comes in two categories; Select Agreement licenses and Campus Agreement Licenses. Select licenses are for one-time purchase options. The cost per license is higher compared to the campus agreement, but there is no annual recurring cost or free upgrades. The Microsoft Campus Agreement is licenses based on FTE count, cost less per license but must usually be purchased based on the FTE count.
